The Texas Aggregates & Concrete Association will again be sponsoring the annual National Ready Mix Concrete Association(NRMCA) High School Essay Contest. Sam Walton Community Scholarship |
The 2008 Sam Walton Community Scholarship is a non-renewable $1,000 award for the first year of undergraduate study at an approved accredited college or university. To qualify, a student must be a graduating high school senior and may not be a Wal-Mart or Sam's Club associate, or the child or legal dependent of a Wal-Mart or Sam's Club associate. The 2008 Don't Mess With Texas Scholarships, sponsored by Raytheon, recognize the achievements of high school seniors who have taken leadership roles to prevent litter in their schools and or communities. One $3,000 scholarship and two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded this spring to students planning to pursue a two- or four-year degree at a university or college in Texas. TXDOT is accepting applications to the Conditional Grant Program for the plan year beginning fall 2008. The grant provides tuition assistance to eligible graduating high school seniors and college students pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, computer science, and management information or computer information systems.
