My home page will be utilized to deliver information to parents, students and student-athletes in a timely manner. Any changes in schedules will be posted on this page as soon as possible. Please check back often for changes, cancellations or additions.

The UIL's newly redesigned web page is live this morning.

Cross Country runners in high school and junior high, please check with Coach Branch on workout schedules. The 2010 Cross Country schedule has been added to the Cross Country page. The 2010-11 Basketball schedule also has been added to the Basketball page. The schedule was udpated August 26. Remember, these schedules are preliminary and will change.

If you would like to get in the gym or weight room after-hours, please call my cell at 518-8794 to make arrangements.

RSS feeds

Some of you may have noticed the RSS feed icon on the left-hand side of the page. RSS or Really Simple Syndication is a way to be alerted to updates on web pages, blogs, etc. A simple program to use is Google Reader. If you have any questions about RSS feeds, please let me know and I will assist you. All of Tuscola-Jim Ned CISD's web pages have RSS feeds.
Keep up with Lady Indian Athletics on Twitter

I have set up a Twitter page for Lady Indians Athletics. Twitter is a free, easy service that sends text messages to your cell phone or to your email account. I will use the Twitter service to update parents, athletes and fans concerning web page updates, schedule changes, and other pertinent information. The page is titled:jimnedathletics. Jim Ned All Sports Banquet

Tuscola-Jim Ned CISD Girls Coordinator and Head Girls Cross Country and Basketball Coach Jimmy Avery and Head Softball Coach Trilece Weyman pose with winners of individual awards at the Jim Ned All Sports Banquet held May 22 at the Lytle Bend Ranch Pavilion. Winners of the awards voted on by the female athletes were: Ellyn and Jordan, Fighting Heart Award; Cheyenne and Rita, Iron Will Award; and Lilly, MVP. Not pictured is co-MVP, Kylee S. All high school athletes were recognized for their accomplishments during the 2009-10 season. Thanks ladies for all the hours you put in this past season!
Jim Ned Lady Indians Basketball Camp

More than 40 campers attended the Lady Indians Basketball Camp the week of June 7. Students in second through ninth grade were taught the fundamental skills of basketball and participated in contests during the four-day camp. Great job ladies!
Final State Rankings - Fifth Best Team in Class 2A in Texas

The Jim Ned's Lady Indians were named the fifth best Class 2A team in the state as voted on by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches. Congratulations ladies.

Jim Ned finished up the 2009-10 season with a 48-39 loss to District 7AA champion and State runner-up Wall in the Regional Quarter finals February 24 in San Angelo.

Jim Ned finished as Area Champions, Bi-District Champions and the third place finisher in District 7AA.

Thanks to all of our supporters and parents who watched us play throughout the season. We could not have done it without you.

Staph infection information for athletes

Please read this information from the Texas Department of State Health Services. They recently issued Staph Infection Prevention Guidelines. Staphylococcus aureus, often referred to as “staph,” are bacteria that can cause skin infections that are often initially mistaken for insect or spider bites. They have issued specific guidelines for athletes.
