Gradebook Tips #6 (Oct. 1, 2007)
What to do if averages do not seem to be correct for a student or a class. Also a link to the training video for Posting Cycle Grades, which will need to be at the end of the six weeks.
Extra Credit for the 6 Weeks
If you are wanting to give extra credit for the 6 weeks (for example: a student has a 69 and you want to raise it to a 70), all you have to do is use the Override Column on the Cycle Grades page. Type in the average that you want the student to have (70 in my previous example). Then calculate averages and look to the RIGHT COLUMN to see the new average.

If a student has an average below 50, however, the program is already “giving” them extra credit points from their actual average. Therefore, if you try to override a low grade (for example, a 40) with a 45 (to give 5 extra credit points)—you will get an error message….because you can’t override a 50 with a 45.
