Here are some statistics that will help you as you fill out the Infrastructure portion of the STaR Charts (the last 6 questions).

(1) Across the district (and each campus) we have a student to computer ratio of 3:1. The question will be about YOUR classroom, and it can be interpreted strictly or loosely.
If you have lab access or laptop carts, you MIGHT say that you DO have one-to-one computer access in your classroom WHEN NEEDED.

(2) Every classroom at Jim Ned has high-speed internet access (100%)

(3) One question includes "phone in the classroom" in every answer. If you don't have a phone, ignore that part and answer the rest.

(4) Technical Support (We have approx. 500 computers in the district with 1 full-time technician and a half-time tech assistant.

(5) We have a LAN/WAN (local area network/ wide area network) where teachers and staff work from a centralized district server (grades, libraries, RSCCC, A+ training, etc.)

(6) Each campus has distance learning capability.

Technology Applications Standards for All Teachers

Standard I. All teachers use technology-related terms, concepts, data input strategies, and ethical practices to make informed decisions about current technologies and their applications.

Standard II. All teachers identify task requirements, apply search strategies, and use current technology to efficiently acquire, analyze, and evaluate a variety of electronic information.

Standard III. All teachers use task-appropriate tools to synthesize knowledge, create and modify solutions, and evaluate results in a way that supports the work of individuals and groups in problem-solving situations.

Standard IV. All teachers communicate information in different formats and for diverse audiences.

Standard V. All teachers know how to plan, organize, deliver, and evaluate instruction for all students that incorporates the effective use of current technology for teaching and integrating the Technology Applications Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS)
