Teachers should login and fill out the charts at least once during the fall semester. Then update them as needed to reflect new skills, infrastructure, or other data.
Your principal has access to the usernames. If you have forgotten your password, the website will let you request it. (If you are a new teacher, your password will be "password" until you change it.) |

JNCISD District Information (2007-8) |
Here are some statistics that will help you as you fill out the Infrastructure portion of the STaR Charts (the last 6 questions). IF you have already done your STaR charts and feel that you may not have answered some of these correctly, you can always log back in and click on the Update button to change any particular answer. You do not have to re-do the entire chart if you don't want to. You just choose the question in the left column, mark your new answer and go on to the next question. I believe it will automatically save your changes but you might have to click Update again.
(1) Across the district (and each campus) we have a student to computer ratio of 3:1
(2) Every classroom at Jim Ned has high-speed internet access (100%)
(3) Other Classroom Technology (I think this is the one that lists classroom phone even at the early stage so just ignore telephone and try to answer the best answer that fits your particular classroom
(4) Technical Support (We have approx. 500 computers in the district with 1 full-time technician (Jo) and a part-time tech assistant (Mel). I also do some support (mostly software related). I am technically 1/2 time middle school librarian and 1/2 time tech coordinator.
(5) We have a LAN (local area network) between the 3 towns where teachers and staff actually do work from the server (grades, RSCCC, etc.)
However, our students do not actually access a central server across this LAN. They only access the servers local to their campuses.
(6) Each campus has distance learning capability. High school is the only campus with a full DL teaching setup but all campuses can receive and send content with the portable DL equip. at each campus. |
